¡qué Rico!
Costa Rican food, otherwise known as "comida tica," was one of the favorite parts of my entire trip! I constantly found myself looking forward to trying new foods, and I was never disappointed. Unlike many other visitors to Costa Rica, I did not really mind eating beans and rice every single day. It was a little odd to eat them first thing in the morning, but with gallo pinto (mixture of beans and rice, often served with eggs or plantains) being the most popular breakfast item, it didn't take me long to get used to it. Some of my other favorites included platanos fritos (fried plantains), empanadas, and arroz con pescado.
